About the Institute

The Institute was born of the shared aspiration of people who read, research and think.

Holding its first General Assembly on 24 September 2006, the Institute elected its first board and has continued its scholarly activities without interruption ever since.

Our aims

  • To establish a just, ethical, participatory and transparent understanding of society.
  • To restore the balance of philosophy, religion, science and art in the light of our culture and values.
  • To examine intellectual movements in their philosophical, sociological, psychological, economic, historical and cultural dimensions.
  • To study the wisdom of East, West and Islam from the standpoint of knowledge, being and art, and so contribute to the healthy growth of our cultural capital.

What our activities seek

  • To set out the intellectual foundations of the disciplines and the accumulated knowledge in this field.
  • To help form qualified people who can reason and think in alternatives.
  • To contribute to the formation of communities of knowledge.

Education

Our educational work aims to give ideals, build character, increase competence and raise standards. Book reviews, conferences, scholarly meetings and courses all serve this purpose.

The Institute is a scholarly, independent and non-political organisation that supports, through the knowledge and activities it produces, the emergence of good people, a good society and a good mentality of governance.

Join our events

Our conferences take place on Saturdays at 14:00 at the Institute centre and are open to all.
